President Trump has wasted no time in cleaning house following his acquittal on bogus impeachment charges.
On Friday, the leader of the free world dropped the hammer on Ambassador Gordon Sondland who played a key role in the ginned-up case that Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine in exchange for an investigation of the Bidens.
In a statement, the now former ambassador confirmed that he had been terminated.
“I was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately as United States ambassador to the European Union”
Sondland’s ouster came on the same day that the treasonous Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman who has been described by some as a Ukrainian double agent and who was at the heart of the impeachment set-up was fired from the National Security Council.
President Trump on Friday ousted Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, making him the second official of the day who testified in the House impeachment inquiry to be dismissed.
“I was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately as United States Ambassador to the European Union,” Sondland said in a statement.
“I am proud of our accomplishments,” Sondland added, thanking Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. “Our work here has been the highlight of my career.”
Sondland’s statement came just hours after Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman was removed from his post with the National Security Council and escorted off the White House grounds.
Sondland provided damaging testimony against Trump in the House impeachment inquiry, saying during a public hearing that “everyone was in the loop” about the effort to pressure Ukraine to investigate the president’s political rivals.
Sondland, a hotel developer who was given an ambassadorship to the European Union despite his inexperience in international diplomacy changed his original story to better mesh with Adam Schiff’s bogus case against the POTUS.
In normal times with a functional press, such a dramatic flip-flop would have trashed his credibility but with a media serving as impeachment cheerleaders, he was instead elevated to the Dems’ star witness.
The same media that hailed Sondland and Vindman as American heroes is squealing like stuck pigs that Trump’s firing of the two is retaliatory in nature as well as a purge of his enemies.
But as Republican Senator Marco Rubio who is hardly a fan of Trump tweeted, the POTUS has the right to be surrounded with people who he can trust.
According to Rubio:
Col. Vindman wasn’t “fired” he’s still an Army officer. He was assigned to NSC to serve the President who has a right to have people he trusts on his staff
Sondland was a politically appointee. No point in having a political appointee who no longer has the Presidents confidence.
Now that the dark cloud of impeachment has been temporarily lifted, Trump can do what he should have done a long time ago – weed out those who are disloyal leakers, Clinton and Obama loyalists and traitors.
Sondland and Vindman aren’t the only rats, but getting rid of them is a damn good start.
